Former Tottenham player Jamie O'Hara has said that Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Sporting Lisbon, where he made his professional debut, would be a viable possibility.
O'Hara pointed out that the 37-year-old might find it difficult to get a transfer to another European club in the Champions League.
“Sporting might be an option to go and win something there with his old club,” O’Hara told talkSPORT.
“Or the MLS. Does he go out there? He’d be a huge signing in the MLS,” he added. But no club in Major League Soccer has contacted the Portuguese yet.
“Will he get Champions League? He’s asked and people are asking if would they want him. He’s been shopped around and there are not enough teams that will have him.
“A lot of managers look at him and think he’s an amazing player and will score goals, but will have to change the way the team plays if he’s in it. Managers will look at it and think that it’s probably more trouble than it’s worth.”
