The 100 million Nigerians living in poverty, according to Peter Obi, the Labour Party's (LP) presidential candidate, comprise his political base.
Despite having a sizable social media following, Obi's presidential campaign has come under fire for being unorganized in real life.
The former governor of Anambra has been criticized for having little chance of winning the 2023 presidential election without widespread popular backing.
After meeting with Benue's governor, Samuel Ortom, on Thursday, Obi responded by saying that all disadvantaged Nigerians support him.
"I have already stated that my structure—the 100 million Nigerians who live in poverty—is what people mean when they talk about structure. Five million people are unemployed as a result.
"Those folks who are struggling to live. Nigerians are present here today and, according to my structure, they are spending more than 100% of their income on food. The Almighty God is the most significant structure overall.
